Lincoln is working on adding a new all-electric SUV to its lineup in 2022, and it’s worth considering if you’re in the market for a model in this segment. The new SUV is called the Mark E and it will come equipped with all the upscale features buyers have come to expect from the Lincoln brand.

Power and Performance

Lincoln hasn’t released official details on the powertrain of the 2022 Mark E, but there’s no doubt that the model will deliver impressive power and performance. In 2020, Lincoln announced a partnership with Rivian to manufacture this all-electric SUV, but that partnership ended early in 2021. Despite the change in plans, Lincoln will still move forward with the EV as part of its push to offer more hybrid and electric models to buyers by 2030.

Some auto experts have speculated that the Mark E will include a similar powertrain to Ford’s newest Mustang Mach E since Ford owns Lincoln. That SUV includes two electric motors paired with a battery pack ranging from 75.7-kWh to 98.8-kWh. Some of the newer electric SUVs have also included four motors, with one mounted at each wheel. This model should be able to drive around 400 miles on a single charge to compete with others in its segment. Lincoln will also likely include its signature adaptive suspension on the vehicle to ensure a comfortable ride in all driving conditions.

Bold Styling

The images released of the 2022 Mark E showcase a sleek body style with aggressive front lighting and eye-catching wheels. Lincoln will continue to release specific details and specs regarding the exterior equipment on all available trim levels.

Powerful Safety Equipment

Although full details on the safety features haven’t been released, it’s likely that the Mark E will come with a long list of advanced equipment to protect those within the vehicle. The likely features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist, as all of these are included on other newer models in the manufacturer’s lineup.

Upscale Cabin Features

Lincoln doesn’t disappoint when it comes to luxurious cabin styling and equipment, so the 2022 Mark E should be no exception. The American auto manufacturer offers 30-way adjustable Perfect Position seats in other models in the lineup, so these impressive seats will likely be either a standard or optional feature in the Mark E. Other potential luxury upgrades to watch for include massaging functionality in the front seats, premium leather upholstery, and a high-end audio system that delivers crisp, high-quality sound.

Two of the newer additions to the Lincoln lineup include larger 10.1-inch touch screens, so the Mark E may follow suit. Other standard tech features include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, navigation, and an onboard Wi-Fi hot spot.
