How Much Can the 2021 Ford F-250 Tow?
Need a towing machine for the worksite and the weekend? The 2021 F-250 doesn’t disappoint. A max conventional towing capacity of 20,000 pounds when properly equipped makes it ready to move almost anything. When equipped with a gooseneck/fifth-wheel, it can tow up to 22,800 pounds when properly configured.

Out-haul and out-tow the competition with your choice of three powerful engines. Make your Ford Super Duty F-250 a fierce force to reckon with thanks to two gasoline V8 engines and a turbodiesel V8 engine available. Which will serve you best? Let’s look at the specs:
- 6.2L flex-fuel gas V8: 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque
- 7.3L OHV PFI gas V8: 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque
- 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel: 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque
The 6.2L engine is standard on the F-250 and is paired with a TorqShift® Heavy-Duty 6-speed SelectShift-G® automatic transmission. The other two engines deliver power with a TorqShift® 10-speed automatic transmission.
With the Power Stroke® engine, you’ll also have a driver-activated engine-exhaust brake. This system provides greater control as you travel downhill.
F-250: Always Connected, Easily Upfitted
Stay connected on the job and you’ll stay more productive too. The 2021 F-250 aids and assists you with a range of technology features, including the available SYNC® 3 infotainment system.
With this available system, an 8-inch touchscreen will be yours, as will the power to stream music and make calls without touching your smartphone. Speaking of your smartphone, you can charge it up for the journey ahead on an available wireless charging pad.
You may need to install aftermarket accessories in your heavy-duty Ford truck. The available upfitter switches, found in an overhead console, make it easy to do so without cutting into the truck’s electrical system. Make your main mover even more capable!
